Tammy Anderson's work focuses primarily on emotive imagery designed to elicit a response from the viewer. Many of her paintings serve as social commentary. Inspiration is derived from contemporary issues as well as from the provocative works of the Expressionist painters — artists such as Van Gogh, Munch, and Schiele. Her painting style, however, tends toward realism.

" My paintings are often introspective... yet they enable me to outwardly express myself and connect with the viewer.
I strive to find subjects which speak to me, and allow my empathy toward each one to guide my work, rather than adhering to a particular style, medium, technique, or palette. "
