Everytime I go through the swamp, I'm amazed by the beauty and how it changes with the seasons. It was early spring and trees were reflected in the open water. A month later the duck weed will have taken over and the only opening will be where a "gator" or snake swam through. After my usual underpainting, I used hard pastel for the water and trees, and most of the vegetation was painted using soft pastel.
