General Information
  • Images sent should accurately represent your artwork. They should be sharply focused, undistorted images with true color. Well-lit, even exposure is crucial. Please photograph your artwork without any frames. Frames often cast shadows on your work.
  • Generally speaking, images that represent a coherent body of work (i.e. similar in theme, style, color) display best.
  • Please keep in mind that all computer monitors display images differently. Thus, images that appear somewhat dark on one person's monitor may appear light on another's, etc. We make every effort to match your images as closely as possible to your original photos or slides.
  • Sculptors may send 2 different views of each sculpture.
Digital images
  • Images must be saved in the JPG or TIF file format (with a .jpg or .tif extension). Opt for maximum quality (minimum compression). We will resize and optimize them for the Internet. Please send the images on a PC compatible CD.
35mm slides (2" x 2")
  • You may use photo masking tape to crop the edges of your slides, but it is not necessary.
Photographs
  • Please send photos between 3" x 5" (minimum) and 8" x 10" (maximum).
  • Do not crop photos with scissors. We will be able to more accurately crop them digitally.
Photo CD master disc
  • If you wish to send a Photo CD (professionally scanned images created from 35mm slides or photographs), please also include photos or slides of your images for comparison in making color corrections, etc.
120mm and 4" x 5" films
  • We are not able to accept 120mm and 4" x 5" films.
