37th Faber Birren National Color Show

The Stamford Art Association announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, September 24 - October 26, 2017 at the Townhouse Gallery in Stamford, CT. $2500 in cash awards. Places is a juried art show (September 9 - December 22, 2017) supported by Andover Historical Society, Andover Artists Guild, Essex Art Center, Andover Cultural Council, and the Andover PK-12 Visual & Performing Arts Department. First place $250; second place $150; third place $75. The intent of Places is to encourage artworks inspired by Andover's inspirational places. Artists find inspiration in many places: parks, open spaces, buildings, houses of worship, home, people, family, history, literature, music. Places encourages artists to think broadly about what in Andover inspires them. Students are encouraged to submit artwork. Two dimensional artwork and wall hangings of all kinds will be eligible, including but not limited to works on paper, prints, drawing, painting, collage, and photography. No three-dimensional sculptures. No audio or video works. Artwork cannot exceed 36" in any direction, including any frame, and must be able to be hung from a picture rail. All artwork must be framed, wired, and ready for exhibition.
