June 19-26, 2010
(9 AM - 8 PM every day)
During the 18th century, spurred by Enlightenment empiricism to study nature directly, artists from all over the world flocked to the countryside surrounding Rome, the “Campagna”, to paint and thus created the first school of open air painting. All painting locations on private properties and include Mount Soracte, the ancient town of Faleri Novi, gorges of Civita Castellana and Tiber Valley. Slide lectures provide the historical background. Daily critiques. 2 Instructors. Fees include materials, surfaces, equipment, all meals, accommodation, local transportation. 12 student maximum.
