Billie f. Mathis has been painting for 37 years and has been a resident for the last seven years in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Waleska, Georgia. Billie completed a 4-year study in Commercial Art with Art Instruction, Inc. Minneapolis, MN. She also has studied with many nationally and internationally renowned watercolorists in the fine arts field. Her paintings have been juried into many national competitions throughout the years as well as regional exhibits. She has received numerous awards and has had several solo exhibits. Her work is collected in many corporate collections, state collections, and private collections throughout the United States, also in German and Turkey. She is a signature member, a life member, and the coordinator of the Regional Directors of the Georgia Watercolor Society. Her invitational memberships include Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in American Women of the Arts, Who's Who in the International Biographies of Artists, Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art, Arts Alliance of Georgia, Cherokee Arts Council and The Art Guild. She has illustrated two children's poetry books, "The Break of Day" and "Looking Through My Window". She has been included in many publications and featured on the cover of an international magazine. |
