Artist's Statement
In painting landscapes, my first source of inspiration is the quality of the light, but as I work, I can't help but reflect on the eternal ebb and flow of nature's forces. The evidence of this power is often so familiar that it is taken for granted.
Though my creative process is not spontaneous, sometimes taking several months to complete a painting, my works are made to reflect that first surge of inspiration --something of the excitement and serenity felt when experiencing a beautiful sight.
