Seeing RED

ARC Gallery and Educational Foundation in Chicago, IL announces a call to artists for an art exhibition, Feb 1-25, 2017. "Seeing RED" will be an Open Walls Exhibition, giving artists the opportunity to exhibit their work at ARC without a juror. ARC is asking artists to reflect on what "Seeing RED" might look like, what it might reference metaphorically, emotionally, politically, or literally. We're seeking work that challenges the status quo or obvious, while asking the artists to have fun playing with this very broad title. All media and materials are eligible if they conform to the size limitations. The art work must be no more than 18 inches wide (including a possible frame). Media-based installations will be accepted as long as the artist provides the viewing equipment, and the horizontal size of this equipment is no more than 18 inches. $40 for each piece submitted and hung ($25 for currently enrolled students). GALEX 51 Juried Exhibition

The Galesburg Civic Art Center in Galesburg, Illinois announces a call to artists for the GALEX 51 Juried Exhibition, March 3 - April 8, 2017. $2,500 in cash prizes available. Juror: John Bakker. Open to all artists residing in the United States. All work must have been completed within the last three years and cannot have been previously shown in the Galesburg Civic Art Center galleries. Sculpt Siouxland

Sculpt Siouxland is a joint project of the Sioux City Art Center and Sculpt Siouxland, Inc., a private, non-profit organization that provides financial support to the project. The purpose of Sculpt Siouxland is to bring seven outstanding outdoor sculptures to highly visible locations in downtown Sioux City, Iowa for a year-long exhibition, June 8, 2017 - June 7, 2018. They join nearly 20 sculptures that form the permanent collection of Sculpt Siouxland. Participation Honorarium, $1,500; Jury's Choice Award, $1,500. Artists of all backgrounds may apply. Sculpt Siouxland is a public project and all proposed sculptures are screened to insure suitability for viewing by all audiences. Artists may submit up to three sculptures for jurying. Sculptures should be unique (non-editioned) works. Artists are responsible for insuring their own sculpture(s) against vandalism and damage. The Midwest Center for Photography in Wichita, Kansas seeks entries for the 5th annual Emerge competition, March 31 - April 14, 2017.
