Fresh Paint Biennial 2017: International Call for Painting

Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, OH announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, September 28 - October 27, 2017. This exhibit is an international survey of contemporary painting with no predefined expectation for type, style, or media of work. Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual, abstract, or experimental. The only criteria beyond excellent quality is that works must in some way represent an approach to painting. A new annual Manifest Grand Jury Prize will result in the awarding of one significant cash prize ($2500) to a single work selected as the 'best of the entire season'. Deception | Open Call for Lens-Based Work

Filter Photo is pleased to announce an open call for lens-based work for a juried exhibition, September 15 - October 21, 2017 at Filter Space in Chicago, IL. The Juror's Choice awardee will receive a $500 cash prize. According to Wikipedia, the word Deception can mean beguilement, deceit, bluff, mystification, ruse, or subterfuge or is the act of propagating beliefs in things that are not true, or not the whole truth (as in half-truths or omission). Deception can involve dissimulation, propaganda, and sleight of hand, as well as distraction, camouflage, or concealment. Topographies - Group Photography Exhibition

The Midwest Center for Photography in Wichita, Kansas seeks entries for a juried photography exhibition, September 29 - October 13, 2017. Juror: Linda Robinson, Gallery Director, MWCP. Topographies explores the notion of place and one's connection to a particular environment. The photographic works presented in this exhibition can range from a detailed exploration of a particular location to a visual documentation of one's personal interaction with their surroundings. The act of observing exterior or interior space through capturing the visual qualities of a location portrays a sense of visual mapping. As topographies encompass many different ways of describing and documenting location, from the physical landscape of a terrain, to the in depth history related to a geographic region, the works presented in this exhibition will represent what it means to examine topographically with the medium of photography. Open to all photographers in the USA, all photo media is welcome. Selection will be based upon the series of work submitted by each artist. A brief artist statement is optional. Divergent Ink: Black & White International Print Show, Autumn 2017

Rubber City Prints seeks entries for a juried printmaking exhibition, October 13 - December 7, 2017 at Rubber City Prints in Akron, OH. Best of Show receives a solo exhibition. Add'l prizes will be awarded. Juror: Erica Criss, NYC Print Studio Manager. We are seeking a show that displays diversity, contrast, and individuality. "Divergent Ink" will capture harmony and uniformity within the relative degrees of black and white ink. We hope to link our world of contrast with the subtleties of printmaking in the absence of color. By entering this show you'll support the growth of a non-profit artist-based printmaking community, future residencies and internships for local students. NOAPS Holiday Small Works Show

The National Oil & Acrylic Painters' Society (NOAPS) announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, November 13 - December 30, 2017 at Cathy Kline Gallery in Parkville, MO. Awards will approximate $10,000 in cash and sponsor merchandise including the Best of Show $2,000. Juror: Hebe Brooks. This exhibit honors the best in oil and acrylic small paintings. Maximum size of the art should be 200 sq in unframed (example: 12 X 16 = 192 square inches). Minimum size should be no smaller than 36 sq in or 6" x 6" unframed. Damned is an exhibition of those extraordinary artists who know that without darkness, there is no light, that beauty does reside within the repulsive and enlightenment within our darkest hours. Confluence of Expression: Wildlife Exhibition

Confluence Art Gallery seeks entries for a juried art and photography exhibition that will be displayed online, October 15 - December 31 and at Green Door Art Gallery in Webster Groves, MO, November 8 - December 31. $1,000 in awards. Artists and photographers are encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of Wildlife.
