Field trips include a Zapotec Sunday market, intimate studio visits with a master weaver family, a papermaker, a women’s red clay collective, and a gorgeous art center housed in a renovated textile factory. The art classes feature watercolor painting with Pedro – who incorporates personal symbols, talismans, Oaxacan culture, and the natural world into his work. With Corrie, experiment with mark making with India ink to develop your unique visual voice, and dive into mixed media collage for visual storytelling.
