Wasatch Plein Air Paradise 2018

The Midway Art Association (MAA) is pleased to announce the 13th annual Wasatch Plein Air Paradise (WPAP) painting competition and exhibition to take place at the Midway Town Hall (Midway, Utah) June 23rd - July 4th, 2018. Wasatch Plein Air Paradise is now one of the largest in Utah with over 100 artists of all levels from Utah and surrounding areas competing for over $12,000 in awards and prizes. This signature event of the Midway Art Association is the main fundraiser for our non-profit group, which provides art education, demonstrations, competitions and scholarships for deserving students. Art Elevated

Artists from around the world are invited to submit images of their works to be considered for Art Elevated, a public art initiative launched by the Garment District Alliance in partnership with Orangenius, a technology platform for the arts community. 1st Prize: $1500, 2nd: $1000, 3rd: $500. 90 Finalists will have their art work displayed on banners throughout the Garment District in the heart of midtown Manhattan, creating a fantastic aerial art gallery that will remain on view from September 3 to October 30, 2018. NAVS' Art for Animals Contest 2018

The National Anti-Vivisection Society announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition in Chicago, IL. Cash prizes will be given to First, Second and Third Place winners, one Youth (age 12 and under) winner, and one Best in Show winner. NAVS' Art for Animals contest provides an opportunity for artists of all skills and ages to create images that inspire others to extend compassion, respect and justice to all animals. For our 2018 competition, we are also looking for fresh perspectives to illustrate NAVS' mission of ending the exploitation of animals used in science. Virginia Fall Foliage Art Show

The Shenandoah Valley Art Center announces a call to artists for the Virginia Fall Foliage Art Show, October 13 and 14, 2018 on the streets of historic downtown Waynesboro, Virginia. $10,000 in awards. 2018 New England Regional Juried Exhibition

The Guild of Boston Artists seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, September 8-29 in Boston, MA. Awards: Gold ($500), Silver ($250), Bronze ($100), New England Watercolor Society ($100), Robert Douglas Hunter ($100), Awards of Merit ($50). Jurors: J.C. Airoldi, Alberta Geyer, Christina Mastrangelo. The Annual Regional Juried Exhibition is a juried show featuring the best of representational painting by New England artists who work in the realist tradition. The Bennett Prize

The Pittsburgh Foundation & The Muskegon Museum of Art (MMA) announce a call to artists for The Bennett Prize. Ten (10) finalists will each receive $1,000 to participate in a traveling exhibition. One woman receives $50,000 and a solo exhibition. Jurors: Steven Alan Bennett (The Bennett Prize), Art Martin (The Muskegon Museum of Art), Andrea Kowch (Artist), Maria Tomasula (University of Notre Dame). Open only to living women artists who: Are eighteen (18) years or older, Reside in the United States (at least part of the year), Will submit work (and work for any exhibition) that does not have to cross an international border to reach MMA, Have primary practice as the creation of original paintings in the genre of figurative realism, Are currently pursuing, or intend to pursue, a career as a full-time painter and will not be a student during The Prize residency. Artists must have works available for exhibition and travel from Feb. 1, 2019 through at least the end of 2021. All entries must be traditional paintings, which is defined as paint upon a two-dimensional surface. Mixed media pieces will be considered, as long as paint is the primary material. Buffalo Creek Art Center artist residency

Buffalo Creek Art Center in Gardnerville, NV is a new summer artist residency for three-dimensional artists in metal, wood, ceramic and multimedia with an emphasis on traditional figurative and abstract works that encompass aesthetics and craftsmanship. Artist ages 18 and older may apply as well as international artists as long as they speak English. The residency starts June 1 and ends October 30. Artist can choose between a four, six or eight-week stay. Artists will be given free room and workspace and use of all the equipment. This unique thirty-four acre property includes a vineyard, fruit orchards, 8 ponds, a miniature train station and hiking trails.
