Art on Paper: Nationally Juried Show

MFA (Maryland Federation of Art) invites all artists residing in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico to enter its 42nd annual Art on Paper competition. Any original 2-D or 3-D work created on or of paper (excluding digital photography), that includes but is not limited to, collage, artist book, origami, printmaking, painting, sculpture, analog photography, and more, will be considered by the juror. Works selected will be on exhibit in MFA's Circle Gallery, 18 State Circle, Annapolis, Maryland from March 28 to April 27, 2019. Cash awards total $1000. Last Week to Apply: Superfine! Art Fair | Los Angeles 2019

Superfine! LA will be hosted February 14-17 at DTLA's familiar Magic Box convention center. The rapidly growing art fair takes its tried and true yet untraditional approach to the west coast for the first time after reinvigorating the New York, Miami, and Washington DC art markets. Superfine! receives frequent and consistent media coverage in outlets like Washington Post, New York Post, and Artnet, and the fair holds the key to the growing, "maturing", and engaged young collector masses. About 20% of visitors make a significant purchase of at least $500, and 90% of past exhibitors report selling to almost exclusively new clients outside of their existing collector network. Great Mills "Hornet" Community Sculpture Project

Great Mills High School (Great Mills, MD) is looking for a sculptor to design and create a sculpture that represents our connection to our community and school. The artist will receive community recognition via newspapers and websites. We are looking for the creation of a sculpture that shares our beliefs and our motto, "Forward Ever, Backward Never." The sculpture will be placed in the center of the Great Mills High School entrance. Surrounded by bricks with names of those who represent GMHS and tiles made by students and local artists, it will be lit by solar lighting to shine throughout the day and night. Buffalo Creek Art Center artist residency

Buffalo Creek Art Center in Gardnerville, NV is a new summer artist residency for three-dimensional artists in metal, wood, ceramic and multimedia with an emphasis on traditional figurative and abstract works that encompass aesthetics and craftsmanship. Artist ages 18 and older may apply as well as international artists as long as they speak English. The residency starts June 1 and ends October 30. Artist can choose between a four, six or eight-week stay. Artists will be given free room and workspace and use of all the equipment. This unique thirty-four acre property includes a vineyard, fruit orchards, 8 ponds, a miniature train station and hiking trails. 27th SculptFest

Sculptors are invited to submit entries for the 27th SculptFest, held April 26-28, 2019 at Centennial Plaza in Round Rock, Texas. Awards will be made and the City will purchase a sculpture from an exhibitor. This major invitational show will include approximately 80 sculptors hailing from across Texas and throughout the U.S. The show will feature a huge selection of miniature to monumental size sculptures as well as sculpture demonstrations including stone carving and bronze pouring. All types of sculpture will be accepted but will be juried. The City of Round Rock spent a significant amount of money for the 26th SculptFest in April 2018 and the Allen Houser exhibit. Community business leaders and the SculptFest hosts believe that a top sculpture show attracting visitors makes a significant contribution to economic development. St. Joseph Sculpture Walk Call for Sculptors

St. Joseph Sculpture Walk (Saint Joseph, Missouri) is open to professional and amateur sculptors. This issue of PoetsArtists and the accompanying exhibition at Zhou B Art Center in Chicago seeks the "multi-panel" artwork. Jurors: Steven Alan Bennett and Dr. Elaine Melotti Schmidt. The multi-panel work of art, usually a diptych or triptych, provides enormous creative opportunities for visual artists because it supplies expansive and varied ways for an artist to speak using juxtaposition, contrast, comparison, expansion, connection and separation. Included within the call are diptychs, triptychs and polytychs (images with more than three panels). Acceptable media includes painting, prints, drawing, and photography. Sculpture is also acceptable if it includes two or more different pieces that are thematically related and make sense when exhibited together. The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art in Marietta, GA announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, July 13 - September 8, 2019. $750 1st place; $500 2nd place; $250 3rd place. 2019 Baltimore Fine Craft Show

Artists are invited to apply for the Baltimore Fine Craft Show, Aug. 29 - Sept. 1, 2019 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD. Jurors: Michael Monroe, Lloyd Herman and Carol Sauvion. All work submitted must be original creations. The Craft Show is committed to presenting the most thoughtful, original, and skilled American & International craft and design objects. Eligible media: Basketry, ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art, and wood. The artist should apply in the category that best describes his/her medium. For instance, a jewelry artist using metal should not apply in the metal category. Other media not listed above may be included in mixed media when combined with one of the Show's established media. If applying under mixed media, please explain in artist statement why mixed media is appropriate. Unacceptable media categories: Objects created by 3D printing technology, paintings, prints, graphics, photography, mass-produced work, soap, or objects made from commercial kits. In addition, works that incorporate materials and or parts acquired from the killing of endangered species (e.g., feathers, tusks), elephant or mammoth ivory, dried or silk flower arrangements, bonsai, embellished commercially-made objects (e.g., t-shirts, note cards, etc.) do not qualify.
