28th National Juried Exhibition

Oil Painters of America announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, May 10 - June 7, 2019 at Illume Gallery of Fine Art in St. George, Utah. $100,000 in cash & merchandise. Juror: Kenn Backhaus OPAM. Submissions must be originally conceived, artist's own reference, own drawing, own concept and must have been self-painted. Paintings created in an instructional setting, including, but not limited to workshops and art classes are not considered original artwork. Paintings created from a group photo shoot set-up by another artist are not considered original artwork. No direct copies of stock images, historic photos, or of any reference to which you do not hold total copyright are allowed. No digital, mechanical, photo, or other transferring to the substrate of any kind is acceptable. Oil paints, alkyd resin, water soluble oils and oil sticks/bars are acceptable. Last Week to Apply: Superfine! Art Fair | Los Angeles 2019

Superfine! LA will be hosted February 14-17 at DTLA's familiar Magic Box convention center. The rapidly growing art fair takes its tried and true yet untraditional approach to the west coast for the first time after reinvigorating the New York, Miami, and Washington DC art markets. Superfine! receives frequent and consistent media coverage in outlets like Washington Post, New York Post, and Artnet, and the fair holds the key to the growing, "maturing", and engaged young collector masses. About 20% of visitors make a significant purchase of at least $500, and 90% of past exhibitors report selling to almost exclusively new clients outside of their existing collector network. Buffalo Creek Art Center artist residency

Buffalo Creek Art Center in Gardnerville, NV is a new summer artist residency for three-dimensional artists in metal, wood, ceramic and multimedia with an emphasis on traditional figurative and abstract works that encompass aesthetics and craftsmanship. Artist ages 18 and older may apply as well as international artists as long as they speak English. The residency starts June 1 and ends October 30. Artist can choose between a four, six or eight-week stay. Artists will be given free room and workspace and use of all the equipment. This unique thirty-four acre property includes a vineyard, fruit orchards, 8 ponds, a miniature train station and hiking trails. Douglas County Art Encounters 2019-2020

Applications are now being accepted for this year-long outdoor sculpture exhibit, held May 2019 - May 2020 in locations throughout Douglas County, Colorado (Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Roxborough). $800 artist stipend; $1,000 People's Choice Award; $1,000 Judge's Choice Award. Art Encounters is open to artists and/or artist teams over 18 years of age. All work must be original in concept and not the product of instructional guidance. Any sculpture that is a replica or duplicate must include the edition and/or conventional description, location where the piece is available, as well as the serial number for that entry. Duplicate sculptures within a 60-mile radius of Douglas County will not be accepted. Art that is accepted into the Art Encounters program that has a duplicate, may not be submitted to another program within a 60-mile radius of Douglas County. Any variety of materials may be incorporated, but the project in its entirety must require minimal to no maintenance. The Colored Pencil Society of America seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, July 31 - September 13, 2019 at the City of Brea Art Gallery in Brea, CA. $5,000 Best of Show and CIPPY Award, Over $10,000 in other awards. Juror: Jean Stern. Open to all artists age 18 and over. Media must be 100% colored pencil on a manufacturer-prepared surface (scratchboard not allowed). Use of any other additional media (watercolor, acrylic, oil, ink, etc.) or artist-prepared surface disqualifies entry. See acceptable colored pencil products. 19th Annual National Small Print Show

The 19th Annual National Small Print Show (NSPS) is a unique, juried art show of matted hand-pulled prints that will be on exhibit May 25 - June 23, 2019 at the Creede Repertory Theatre in Creede, Colorado. Best in Show, 2nd and 3rd Place and two Honorable Mention awards. Artists from all 50 states and Canada are eligible to submit up to 3 original prints to exhibit and sell. Brushstrokes 2019

The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art in San Luis Obispo, CA announces a call to artists for Brushstrokes 2019, a non-themed exhibition representing a wide range of artistic expression in painting. The exhibit will be held September 6 - October 27, 2019. At least three Awards of Excellence. Juror: Jerry McLaughlin. Entries must be original wall-hung paintings in any painting medium, completed since 2016. Digital paintings will be considered. Art must not exceed 48 inches framed in any direction. A Juror's Award certificate and a check for $100 will be presented to three works that express the most imaginative interpretation of the theme. Juror: Rakeem Cunningham. Summerlin Festival of Arts

Artists are invited to apply for the Summerlin Festival of Arts, held October 12 and 13, 2019 on a grassy park-like area in beautiful Downtown Summerlin. In the affluent Summerlin area of Las Vegas, the established outdoor festival (2019 is the 24th year) features the works of more than 100 fine artists and craftspeople. The event's focus is to support fine artists and artisans, drawing more than 40,000 visitors over the two-day art celebration. The event is free and open to the public. By applying for a booth in the Summerlin Art Festival, all artists and artisans certify and can provide proof that the work submitted is their original artwork or fine craft, designed, and created by the artist.
