Request for proposals for public art in Castle Rock's Philip S. Miller Park

The Town of Castle Rock, CO seeks proposals for a new public art project at Philip S. Miller Park. Budget is $50,000. Up to three finalists will each receive a stipend of $500 for concept proposals. The artwork acquired for this site must be durable, low-maintenance, pose no hazard to the public, require minimal conservation (optimally maintenance free for up to 15 years), meet safety standards, and adhere to building codes and other state regulations. Potential adverse site conditions include: wind, sun, snow, extreme heat, freezing temperatures, potential for vandalism, etc. Artists are required to provide a statement of recommended maintenance, as well as a recommendation for lighting the artwork. The proposed artwork must be an original work. All art media will be considered. 2019 MarinMOCA Artist In Residence

MarinMOCA invites applications from all artists over the age of 21 for a one-year studio residency at its campus in Novato, California, USA. This program is designed to encourage the creative, intellectual, and personal growth of emerging and established visual artists. The residency offers the artist the gift of time to experiment and realize new work while giving the community opportunities to connect and learn from the artist's art practice and knowledge. Artists working in all media are welcome to apply, but MarinMOCA cannot support the use of some hazardous materials or noise-intensive mediums. Studio space and $1,000 stipend provided. No housing provided. Residency Term: January 15 - December 31, 2019. The selected artist(s) will receive a stipend of $1,000 during their stay, with $500 provided at the start of the residency and the balance provided at the six-month point. All other costs for material or travel will be covered by the artist. Resident artists are required to offer 6-8 hours per month of public programming to the community. CWA 49th National Exhibition

The California Watercolor Association seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, January 11 - February 16, 2019 at Harrington Gallery in Pleasanton, CA. $14,000 anticipated in awards. Jurors: Iain Stewart and Karen Frey. Open to all artists 18 years or older. Paintings must be two-dimensional and primarily of watermedia on paper surface; Yupo and Tyvek are acceptable. Pastel or collage may be used as long as watermedia is the dominant element. No digital media, photography, prints, or reproductions. Source material and composition must be wholly original and not derived from any published images. Any photo reference material must be taken by the artist and is neither copyrighted nor published. Flow Art Space in Salt Lake City, UT announces a call to artists for upcoming art exhibitions, fall or winter 2018, or spring 2019. Juror: Melissa Metzler. 2D media with diverse subject matter and a unique approach to creating art are currently sought for exhibition and sale. Fish and Wildlife Conservation Art Contest and Show

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife seeks entries for an upcoming art contest to select the artwork, that will be featured on the 2019 Habitat Conservation Stamp and other promotional materials (e.g., art print, wine label). Proceeds will be used to benefit conservation of Oregon's native species and habitats. The winning artist will receive a $2,000 award. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Buffalo Creek Art Center artist residency

Buffalo Creek Art Center in Gardnerville, NV is a new summer artist residency for three-dimensional artists in metal, wood, ceramic and multimedia with an emphasis on traditional figurative and abstract works that encompass aesthetics and craftsmanship. Artist ages 18 and older may apply as well as international artists as long as they speak English. The residency starts June 1 and ends October 30. Artist can choose between a four, six or eight-week stay. Artists will be given free room and workspace and use of all the equipment. This unique thirty-four acre property includes a vineyard, fruit orchards, 8 ponds, a miniature train station and hiking trails.
