Join printmaker Megan Hunter in collaboration with medical herbalist Julia Behrens for a week immersion in botanical monoprinting, plant knowledge and print practice in a historic Umbrian villa. This immersive botanical monoprinting retreat explores layered colour, plant form, paper and composition to develop a considered body of work informed by direct engagement with the surrounding landscape. Participants gather local flora on guided walks, exploring its medicinal, ecological and cultural histories before translating it into layered prints in the studio. Through colour and texture, you create a collection of botanical prints, part artwork, part visual field journal and record of time in Italy. Includes chef prepared meals, accommodation, materials, excursions, wine and olive oil tastings. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists.

Join printmaking and drawing specialist Sam Marshall as she returns to South West France for a week of experimentation with linocut and drypoint, creating beautiful artworks inspired by your surroundings. The emphasis is on exploration, play, and developing your own visual language. We begin with simple, accessible sketchbook exercises, helping you loosen up, observe more closely, and enjoy the process of drawing without pressure. As the week unfolds, these drawings become the foundation for your prints, moving through experimental drypoint into more considered linocut work. You’ll be introduced to a range of materials and approaches, with plenty of time to experiment, make mistakes, and discover what excites you. With individual guidance, you can work at your own pace.
