From entry level to advanced wheel and handbuilding skills, all are welcome here! Bring your creativity and ability to think outside the box into the studio and watch your clay projects come to life. Do you have something you have always wanted to make out of clay? Bring your idea to class and we can make it happen. Ready to learn the basics or fine tune the mechanics of the potters wheel? Great! Veronica will be there with a potters wheel demo every week. Handbuilding on thrown pieces have endless possibilities so come and join the fun! In this course, children discover new mediums and ideas in art. They begin to identify differences in art such as distinguishing between bright and light, as well as dull and dark colors, find basic shapes within larger objects, and identify types of lines, such as long/short, thick/thin, and straight/curved, then include them in their work. Enrich your child's school-based art program with a more in-depth exploration of art. Employing a wide range of mediums, including drawing and painting, printmaking, ceramics and mixed media, this is an exciting opportunity for children who are looking to take their artistic learning to the next level. This is a 10-week, 1.5 hr. after school class on Wednesdays.

"Paper, Paint, and Beyond! (Ages 9-14)"

In this engaging and fun-filled course, students will explore the fascinating world of abstract art through a combination of Painting, Mixed Media and Collage techniques. Students will experiment with acrylic paint and mixed media in a playful and positive environment that nurtures creativity and curiosity. Through demonstrations and guided activities, children will learn abstract painting techniques and be encouraged to develop their unique artistic style. Each week, students will delve into key concepts like proportion, contrast, balance, movement, rhythm, and basic color theory to create striking abstract pieces. "Two For Art (Ages 2yrs+)"

Join your child on a nurturing creative quest. Whether your child has already begun to show an interest in art or you are looking to introduce them to new media in a structured yet caring environment, this class allows even the youngest students to discover their creative side. Students work with air-dry clay, collage, paint, chalk and more. Our early childhood teachers encourage students to talk about their art, providing a great opportunity to learn new vocabulary, particularly words related to colors, shapes, textures, and emotions. Children learn to follow directions in a social setting with support and encouragement of their caregiver, serving as the perfect precursor to preschool. This is a 10-week, 1 hour class for 1 child + 1 adult (parent or caregiver).

"Teen Studio: Advanced Drawing/Portfolio Prep (Ages 14+)"

This class is for high school students looking to deepen their skills in 2D composition and life drawing. Working from various still life arrangements, students will create detailed realistic and expressive compositions from life using pencils and chalk pastels. Students will benefit from highly individualized instruction in a small class setting. As many college art programs and art schools require observational work in portfolio submissions, this class will also provide the opportunity to create a strong and essential portfolio piece. New students and repeat students welcome - each session explores different topics and still set-ups. This is a 5-week, 2.5-hour class.

"Family Day of Clay: Pumpkin Cat"
October 11, 2025
 

Come get in the spooky spirit of the season! Join us for an afternoon of clay together with your child to create a friendly little black cat on a pumpkin perch. Learn the basics of working with kiln-fired clay and colorful glazes while you make one project together with your child. If you each want to create your own project, please register yourself and each child separately. Ages 6 and up with an adult. All works created will be fired and ready for pick up approximately two weeks after the workshop.

"Teen Studio: Photography (Ages 11+)"

Starting with the fundamentals of photography, students learn about camera settings and composition from award-winning photographer Laura Ducceschi. Demonstrations and slideshows illustrate the concepts, then students put theory into practice creating photographs outside. They receive regular feedback during class critiques. Bring your own single lens reflex (DSLR) or mirrorless camera for this class. A compact camera is acceptable but will not have all the functionality. Phone cameras are not acceptable for this course. Every student needs to bring a fully charged camera battery and memory card to each class to shoot freely. This is a 7-week, 1.5-hour class.

Students will master the basics of fashion design using illustration techniques, experimenting with various artistic mediums, and learning to execute quick sketches in the “croqui" style. "Teen Sculpture: Stone Carving (Ages 12+)"
Mondays, October 13 - November 17, 2025
 

The world of stone carving is at your fingertips! Have fun learning to carve stone using traditional hand and power tools. Students choose a raw piece of soapstone or alabaster on their first day of class. Following step-by-step instructions about basic stone carving techniques, students turn a block of stone into a 3-Dimensional sculpture, using hammers, chisels and other tools. Camaraderie working with others helps students watch and adapt new ideas and techniques, enhancing their knowledge, experience, and understanding of sculpting stone. All tools and materials are included. Safety glasses will be provided. This class is a 6-week, 1.5 hour after school class.
