Alchemy6

The Enamelist Society seeks entries for Alchemy6, a juried enamel exhibition. Alchemy6 is the 18th Biennial International Juried Enamel Exhibition and 14th International Juried Student Enamel Exhibition and will be installed at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts during The Enamelist Society's Biennial Conference in August 2022. This exhibition will travel to other venues, ending at the Ohio Craft Museum through April 2023. Works are required to remain a part of the exhibition until its conclusion. The Exhibitions highlight the best in contemporary enamels produced in the last 2 years, showcasing the work of enamelists that demonstrate aesthetic and technical expertise. Applications are being accepted for this annual juried sculpture exhibit, held June 2022 - May 2023, in locations throughout Douglas County, Colorado (Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker and Roxborough). Selected artists receive an $800 stipend and an opportunity to win the coveted $1,000 People's Choice Award and $1,000 Judge's Choice Award. Open to artists and/or artist teams over 18 years of age. All work must be the result of an independent and/or team effort that is original in concept and not the product of instructional guidance. Any sculpture that is a replica must include the edition and/or conventional description, location where the piece is available, as well as the serial number for that entry. Duplicate sculptures within a 60-mile radius of Douglas County will not be accepted. Any variety of materials may be incorporated, but the project in its entirety must require minimal to no maintenance. El Paseo is the premier shopping district in Palm Desert and the Coachella Valley, located in southern California. 2022 Art on Loan - South Suburban Public Art Committee, Colorado

The South Suburban Public Art Committee (ssprd.org) seeks applications for up to 3 sculptures to be placed outdoors at Goodson Recreation Center (over 400,000 annual visitors) and up to 2 at The Hudson Gardens & Event Center (over 130,000 annual visitors). $500 stipend. At Goodson, the sculptures will be displayed on three existing concrete pads (36" in diameter and approximately 18" in height), which are located near the main entrance to the center. Each pad has an embedded steel plate (24" x 24" x 1/2") for the artwork to be welded in place. Sculptures must be of a size to fit on the provided concrete pads, and cannot exceed 4,000 pounds in overall weight. At Hudson Gardens, two outdoor display pedestals will be constructed. There is no size restriction, but the overall weight cannot exceed 4,000 pounds. Proposed sculptures must be appropriate for outdoor display at a public facility and of high artistic quality. Sculptures must be an original work of the selected artist, durable, non-breakable, relatively maintenance-free, meet or exceed standards for public safety and structural integrity, and composed of parts not easily damaged by weather or vandalism. Pence Gallery Emerging Artist Award

Pence Gallery in Davis, CA announces a call to artists for the Pence Gallery Emerging Artist Award. The award, under-written by donors James R. and Suzette M. Smith, offers an award of $3,000 and a solo exhibit at the Pence in January-February 2023. 'Emerging' is defined as an artist who is early in their art career, and has some experience exhibiting in group shows, but not an extensive solo exhibit history. The qualifications for this award are that the artist's submitted work is of high caliber, original, and completed within the past five years. The art submitted should not have been on view at the Pence Gallery before. The award is limited to artists residing in California, and will be determined by a panel of experts and donors. Artists must use the award to further their work in a significant direction. Artists may work in any medium, except for video or sound art. $30 for non-members; $25 for Pence members.
