The Bennett Prize

The Bennett Prize seeks to propel the careers of women figurative realist painters who have not yet realized full professional recognition, empowering new artists and those who have painted for many years. The Prize awards $50,000 to a woman artist to create her own solo exhibition of figurative realist paintings, which will travel the country. Three Portrait Commissions

A wonderful portrait opportunity: "Taking Steps: Recognizing 19th Century Indigenous & African American Abolitionists, Entrepreneurs and Family". The project will honor William Brown and Martha Ann Tulip Lewis (Brown), Sojourner Truth, and Frederick Douglass with large-scale portraits. The portraits will become a part of the Worcester County Mechanics Association permanent collection and installed in Mechanics Hall's acoustically perfect grand auditorium located in Worcester, MA. The three portraits will hang prominently alongside Abraham Lincoln, William Lloyd Garrison, Abbie Kelley Foster, Lucy Stone, and others of their contemporaries. The Colored Pencil Society of America seeks entries for an online exhibition. $2000 for EXPY Best of Show Award; lesser amounts and product awards given to other winners. Rockies West National Watercolor Exhibition

The Western Colorado Watercolor Society seeks entries for a juried exhibition, March 1 - April 7, 2023 at The Art Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. Best of Show $1,000, Best of Colorado $500, First Place $700, Second Place $500, Third Place $300, Numerous Other Awards. Juror: Betty Carr. Open to artists 18 years of age and older. The paintings must be on paper and limited to water media having the appearance of watercolor. I Choose, Therefore I Am (online exhibition & gallery exhibition)
