Join me for workshops in the vibrant town of Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. In this week-long cold wax and oil workshop, participants will explore painting as a process of discovery. Through layering, scraping, drawing, and reworking, we will develop richly surfaced paintings that balance spontaneity with depth and resonance. Emphasis will be placed on intuition, risk-taking, and cultivating an authentic visual language within abstraction. The following materials are provided: Cold Wax Medium, acrylic gel, newsprint, tissue paper, a variety of tools, paper towels and vegetable oil for cleaning tools. This class is open to beginners and/or advanced artists. All are welcome!

"Building Tension, Cold Wax and Oil Workshop"

Join me for a five day long workshop in the vibrant town of Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. This immersive five-day workshop explores the dynamic possibilities of cold wax and oil through composition, structure, and surface. Working from intuition and observation, we will investigate the tension between geometric and organic forms, large and small shape relationships, edge, line, and spatial movement. Through demonstrations, individual feedback, and daily studio practice, participants will develop paintings that feel both intentional and alive. "Carnaval 2027 Oaxaca Art + Culture Workshop: watercolor, mixed media/collage, masks"

Experience the hauntingly beautiful celebration of Carnaval in Oaxaca where La Danza de Los Diablitos (Dance of the Devils) brings ancient Zapotec traditions to life. The art classes feature watercolor, experimenting with mark making, and assembling mixed media collages. You'll paint your own authentic wooden mask and create an artist booklet using gorgeous handmade paper for your collages. Beyond the art studio, explore the real Oaxaca out in the pueblos: watch Carnaval unfold, visit a traditional Zapotec Sunday market, meet master alebrije carvers and papermakers working with natural fibers, tour a famous art center housed in a renovated textile factory, take a guided street art walk in a cool barrio.
