Learning the skills to use the wheel can be hard but exciting. We encourage students to enjoy the experience, more than focus on a finished project. When hand building with clay a student can come in with a project idea like a mug, bowl, or even sculpture and finish their project in the hour. At the end of class students will choose their favorite 1-2 pieces of their art to be bisque fired, and glazed by the instructor. Pottery will be ready approximately 2–4 weeks after the class.

Private and semi-private pottery lessons, providing a supportive environment where students can build confidence while learning the fundamentals of working with clay. Instruction includes: Beginner wheel throwing (centering, pulling walls, creating bowls and mugs, trimming, and finishing); Hand building using slab construction to create functional and decorative pottery; Surface decoration and basic glazing techniques as students progress. The emphasis of each lesson is on learning techniques and developing skills rather than producing finished pottery.
