Students will learn the basics of hand building and wheel throwing then work towards their own goals. Students will choose from decorating their own work with colored slip or choosing a glaze the teacher will dip the pottery in. Returning students may have an opportunity to glaze their own work. Clean up starts 15 minutes before the end of class and students are expected to clean their space. Hair ties must be worn for long hair. Children will get dirty and clay can be washed off! Pottery will be ready 3-4 weeks after the last class. If pottery cannot be picked up within 1-6 months of the class, please choose to have it shipped. Small boxes are $15.00 each.

"Teen Studio: Advanced Drawing/Portfolio Prep (Age: 14yrs+)"
Saturdays, March 7 - April 11, 2026

This class is for high school students looking to deepen their skills in 2D composition and life drawing. Working from various still life arrangements, students will create detailed realistic and expressive compositions from life using pencils and chalk pastels. Students will benefit from highly individualized instruction in a small class setting. As many college art programs and art schools require observational work in portfolio submissions, this class will also provide the opportunity to create a strong and essential portfolio piece. New students and repeat students welcome - each session explores different topics and still set-ups. This is a 5-week, 2.5-hour class.
