"Oils and Acrylics: Obtaining Luminance and Transparency"
Wednesdays, January 22 - February 12, 2025

Imagine achieving amazing transparency for water and glass. Oil and acrylic paintings can have that transparent—almost watercolor—look through the application of specific techniques and methods in conjunction with use of a paint medium. We will find our subjects in studio from photo references and still life. Spontaneity of method and color mixing for the subject will be achieved through class demonstrations, technique exercises, individual attention and critiques. Students taking this course should have some experience using whatever medium they're taking the class in (oil or acrylic).

This course is excellent as a foundation for future study, as a precursor to more advanced drawing study or to painting and other disciplines.
