"Crochet for Beginners - Part One of a Three Part Series"

Ages 10 year through adult. Learn the relaxing and creative art of crochet. This class is meant for absolute beginners, someone that has never held a crochet hook! A crochet hook and yarn will be provided for participants to learn. During this class we will learn first how to hold the yarn and your crochet hook. We will then learn how to do a foundation chain and a single crochet. Participants will then apply what they learn to create a beginner swatch. By the end of the first class, participants will complete a single crochet swatch that they will be able to practice over the next month.

"Crochet for Beginners - Part Two of a Three Part Series"

Ages 10 year through adult. Learn the relaxing and creative art of crochet. A crochet hook and yarn will be provided for participants to learn. During this class we will apply our knowledge from class one! Using our knowledge, we will learn the half double crochet and the double crochet. We will then apply our stitches to practice and create a swatch. This will unlock the beauty of crochet that will create so many possibilities. By the end of the first class, participants will complete a swatch utilizing single crochet, half-double crochet and double crochet.

"Crochet for Beginners - Part Three of a Three Part Series"
June 14, 2026
 

Ages 10 year through adult. Learn the relaxing and creative art of crochet. A crochet hook and yarn will be provided for participants to learn. Now that participants are able to do the basic stitches, crocheting in the round will be introduced! This opens the crochet world to motifs - or commonly known as granny squares. Two techniques will be taught during this class to crochet in the round. The first is a join stitch using a simple chain. The second is a magic ring. Both techniques will allow crochet artists to create any crochet project that requires crocheting in the round. By the end of this class, participants will create a 2-3 round granny square.

"Indigo Dyeing: Silk Scarves"
June 18 & 19, 2026
 

Discover the rich legacy and timeless beauty of indigo in this inspiring hands-on workshop. Participants will embark on a creative journey through South Carolina’s deep-rooted indigo history, learning how this treasured dye shaped the region’s artistic and cultural heritage. Lydia will share captivating illustrations that trace the indigo process from seed to dye, offering a fascinating glimpse into the artistry and science behind this ancient craft. Then, you’ll explore the elegant Japanese art of Shibori—a resist-dyeing technique that transforms fabric into one-of-a-kind works of art. Each participant will design, bind, and dye their own luxurious silk scarf, creating a stunning wearable masterpiece to treasure or gift to someone special. This course is appropriate for all levels of students.

"Wine Down Wednesday: Fantastic Felted Works"

This two-hour adults-only art experience offers the perfect opportunity to unwind, connect, and explore a new artistic medium in a fun, welcoming environment. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine as you learn how to needle felt in this exciting class, where participants will recreate an image using felting techniques that are both meditative and super successful! Discover the calming rhythm of needle felting while transforming soft fibers into a beautiful, textured work of art. No experience necessary! Come relax, meet new friends, share a few laughs, and leave with a fantastic felted creation and a refreshed creative spirit. Participants must be age 21+. All supplies included.
