Monotypes are an expressive and accessible entry into printmaking: draw or paint an image on a Plexiglas plate or other surface and then print it on paper or fabric to create a one-of-a-kind artwork. Instruction will cover both hand-printing and press techniques, as well as water- and oil-based colors. Tuition includes a $30 lab fee.

This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of relief printmaking without a press. Students will learn linocut and woodcut carving and hand printing and color-printing techniques. Ages 16+. Level: Intermediate/Basic familiarity with cyanotypes required. This workshop is for folks who have dabbled with cyanotypes and want to explore beyond the basics. We will have both instruction and lots of time for hands-on exploration including wet cyanotypes and double exposures. Pre-treated fabric, paper and coffee filters will be used to create single and dual sided imagery, using a variety of materials for inspiration including leaves, flowers, stencils and more.

This workshop will focus on helping students transform their works on paper, including drawings, paintings and prints into mixed media pieces, with a focus on collage.
