Capture the beauty and light of the outdoors! Learn composition, values, color, edges, and paint techniques. Oil paints are preferred, but water-mixable oils or acrylics are welcome. Some familiarity with your medium and basic drawing skills are recommended. Each day begins with a demo and lecture by Chris, followed by lunch (bring your own or grab fast food). The afternoon is for painting with individualized instruction. In bad weather, we’ll move indoors. Experience the benefits of painting from life, enhancing your skills and artistic judgment. In this workshop, our main focus will be on the art of capturing and portraying light. Light plays a vital role in bringing depth, atmosphere, and realism to any artwork. Participants will have the opportunity to explore a range of techniques that can be employed to effectively represent light, including glazing, wet-on-wet, and drybrush techniques.
