Join local pine needle basket maker Karen McCarthy for this exciting half-day workshop. The focus will be individualized, so students of all levels are welcome. Students can choose to learn a variety of techniques from the basics (starting a basket, changing thread, shaping sides, finishing a basket) to more advanced techniques (adding beads or other findings, doing a variety of stitches, or sculptural work). Students who are familiar with pine needle basket making are encouraged to bring work in progress and beads or findings they would like to incorporate into a basket.
