"Process Painting: Come to the Table"
June 4-7, 2020

No previous art experience is required. You need only bring your willingness and longing to engage with creativity. Process Painting highlights the creative process as a method of self-exploration and discovery; it is not a traditional painting class. The emphasis is the process, not what appears on the paper. Using tempera paint, this form of spontaneous expression provides an opportunity to deepen the connection and the divine. The facilitator acts as a support and witness to the process by asking open-ended questions. A safe and sacred container is created by the absence of product focused commentary. Through intuitive image making, Process Painting allows access to the flow of life giving energy which summons the painter to greater consciousness and wholeness.

Pull and post your own paper in this one-day hands-on experience making our pulp with recycled elements & adding barks, leaves, flowers and seeds to create unique textures, colors and paper consistencies. Methods of drying & pressing the paper are covered with projects ideas on display using hand-made paper. Participants are welcome to bring clean colored, tissue or wrapping papers to add to the mix. To take your papers home this day, bring a dozen 8X12” felts or leave them in the studio to pick up the following weekend.
