We've all done it - scribbled mindlessly on scraps of paper, or on the edges of workbooks or on napkins at a restaurant. So what's a doodle or zentangle, and why are they important? This workshop will show you how to effectively doodle, noodle & zentangle! Students finish the day with a piece of abstract art. This workshop came about from Joan's own personal experience as a stalled artist. She was forced to put off working on her art for years due to responsibilities in the "real" world. However, once awarded the chance to start working on her art again, she was terrified and stuck. Doodling opened the door and Joan came pouring out. Students should bring $20 for materials.

Cold wax medium is an additive that thickens oil paint, speeds up the drying time (a bit), and neutralizes the paint so there’s no concern about “fat over lean” rules. David goes beyond paint application basics and shows how to construct strong, vibrant, personality-filled paintings. Students will learn:
• how to find the essence of your subject matter
