"Artistic Anatomy with Figure Drawing Foundations: Two Part Workshop"
Sundays, July 27 & August 3
 

Participants will be guided through the anatomical structures that inform dynamic, accurate depictions of the human form. Using a live model, participants will explore multiple facets of artistic anatomy starting with the major masses of the body and how they relate to essential figure drawing concepts such as opposition, tilt, balance, and proportion. Learn the key bony landmarks and muscle structures relevant to figure drawing and render the visible reference points that inform structure and gesture. Artists will have the opportunity to apply their anatomical knowledge through gestural and long pose figure drawing, individualized feedback, and live demonstrations. Ideal for artists of all levels to deepen understanding of the human form and enhance their figure drawings.

"All Ears! Learn how to draw the human ear"
July 30 & August 17, 2025
 

Learn how to draw the human ear in this focused, anatomy-informed workshop with Rachel Suter. Combining her background in art and cadaveric dissection, Rachel will guide participants through her structured approach to capturing this often-overlooked feature with accuracy and confidence. Workshop covers: • Identifying key anatomical landmarks for correct ear placement • Simplifying the ear’s complex form into foundational shapes • Using the block-in technique to guide shading and value placement Includes: lesson and demonstration, followed by guided drawing practice from a live model. Participants will explore both quick gestural sketches and longer poses, developing their observational skills and anatomical understanding. This class is perfect for artists of all levels looking to strengthen their figurative work through anatomical insight and hands-on practice.
