The prerequisite for this class is a basic Photoshop class and/or experience with Photoshop which includes an understanding of tools, using layers, adjustment layers and nondestructive editing. Photoshop is a robust program with complicated features for editing and improving photographs. Topics covered in this class include: 1 - a focus on isolating and emphasizing the subject, 2 - blurring backgrounds and adding foreground blur, 3 - applying noise reduction and sharpening while maintaining resolution and clarity, 4 - using layer styles and gradient mapping to add textures, depth and drama to your images. For every class, student will need a laptop computer which has Photoshop installed. Creative Cloud Photoshop is available from Adobe or Amazon websites.

Join us for photography classes outside in natural settings. Five classes will meet at different local sites with seasonal appeal. As we explore the environs, we will talk about strategies and options for focus, depth of field and exposure. Discussions will also include composition, point of view and perspective to get the best possible result in camera. Bring your own DSLR or mirrorless camera. Compact cameras are acceptable. Tripod optional. Some walking over uneven terrain may be required. Bathrooms may or may not be available. Two classes will be in the classroom for image sharing, suggestions and learning from each other’s experiences. Locations will be sent to participants before the class. Rain dates will be subsequent Wednesdays.
