"Capturing a Full Portrait of Madeline Island"
August 12-16, 2019

For most photographers, taking a trip presents an incredible opportunity to capture the unique sights and allure of a new place. But are there any guidelines on how to best approach photographing a new destination? Learn what to consider when planning your itinerary and your photographs. Seasoned travel photographer Pei Ketron will lead the class to different visually-rich locations around Madeline Island, including the Big Bay Lagoon and downtown La Pointe, where she will provide instruction on how best to capture the scenes you encounter, whether you're shooting with a DSLR, film camera, or smartphone. This workshop also includes a private boat tour of the Devils Island sea caves, on the northern-most Apostle Island.

"Apostle Islands Night Sky Photography Workshop"
September 23-27, 2019

Explore the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, while learning the art of night sky photography. The workshop dates have been carefully selected for many reasons including moon phases, meteor showers, rise and set times, weather, temperatures, geographical location and current space weather events. The Northern Lights are often seen close to the autumn and spring equinoxes. Most of the shooting will be done on Madeline Island. We will also take a boat ride to Devils Island where we will photograph the caves at sunset before being dropped off on another Apostle Island for an overnight shoot! We will learn how to capture the Milky Way, star trails, panoramas, time-Lapse video, and meteor showers, and also cover the post processing workflow and techniques.
