These classes are for older kids who enjoy art and wish to improve their skills. Painting (oil, acrylic, watercolors), drawing, sculpture, and many other creative techniques will be taught in these advanced classes. The classes are led by a well-known local artist whose work is represented in major galleries in the US and Europe. His sculpture is featured at the entrance of the College Station airport. Classes are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Day 1: Kathie will lead you step-by-step through layering watercolor and wax, teaching all the important skills you need to become an expert. You’ll be excited when you see what this technique can do! You get a look you cannot achieve any other way. No watercolor skills are necessary. We get a bit messy, but we have fun doing it! Day 2: Enjoy experimenting with different texture mediums to create a wonderful ground for our painting. We’ll pour and carve and stamp and scrape. Then we develop the subject with beautiful transparent glazes and thicker applications, too. With acrylic there are really no mistakes, just a lot of fun as you discover that this is indeed the most forgiving, adaptable medium.
